A Bumble Match Turned Beautiful Celebration

It honestly felt surreal when the photography for this gorgeous Barns at Alswick wedding finally kicked off. Estelle booked me back in 2023, and from our very first chat about her vision, I knew the photos were going to be something special. Fast forward to 2025, and the day had finally arrived. Estelle and George met five years ago on Bumble. Ultimately, what started as a simple swipe evolved into a love story that made their celebration incredibly meaningful to capture.

Bridal Prep in a Summer Heatwave

Generally speaking, the British weather has a wicked sense of humour. Naturally, it decided to make their day one of the hottest of the year. However, a true UK summer celebration wouldn’t be complete without a little heatwave drama to keep things dynamic.

Over in the bridal suite, the morning prep was buzzing. Champagne glasses clinked between candid photos, meanwhile, hairdryers and fans blasted in a desperate attempt to cool the rooms down. Consequently, even the bouquets had to retreat to the shadowy corners of the bathroom to avoid wilting. Despite the soaring temperatures, Estelle remained cool as a cucumber. Undeniably, armed with the most meticulous schedule, she was a dream to work with. Her flawless dress looked like it belonged on the cover of a magazine the second I photographed it.

Cheeky Bridesmaids & Chilled Groomsmen

While the bridal suite buzzed, a few bridesmaids snuck off to the stunning ceremony space in search of cooler air. Naturally, they stumbled upon the photo pod and couldn’t resist a cheeky session.

Meanwhile, George and his groomsmen were living their best lives outside in the magnificent grounds. They enjoyed the garden games in the blazing sunshine, showing zero interest in putting on their suits until the absolute last moment. Ultimately, when they finally suited up, they looked incredibly sharp and completely ready to nail the epic photography that comes with a celebration like this.

A Beautiful Barns at Alswick Wedding Ceremony

Soon after, some of the most emotional moments of the day unfolded. Estelle arranged a first look with her two boys cue big, cheeky grins and a huge amount of love. This was immediately followed by a tear-jerking first look with her dad, who was absolutely bursting with pride.

Her boys walked her part of the way down the aisle before handing her over to her dad for the final stretch. Because George was waiting at the top of the aisle under the gorgeous wooden beams, he was visibly overcome. Honestly, that raw, unfiltered emotion is exactly why I adore this job.

Golden Hour Magic and Spontaneous Portraits

As the day began to wind down, we snuck away into the beautiful grounds for some golden hour portraits. Undoubtedly, the light was an absolute dream, perfectly illuminating their genuine laughter. Furthermore, when a cheeky guest decided to photobomb our session, it was pure photography gold. Estelle looked radiant in every single photo, George looked entirely content, and together they were the picture of happiness.

Dance Floor Madness to End the Night

Just when you thought the day couldn’t get any better, the evening party kicked off, and oh boy, it was one for the books. Capturing photos of glow sticks waving, flip-flops flying, and dance moves that deserve their own highlight reel was an absolute blast.

From funky shuffles to full-on air guitar, the dance floor was alive with electric energy. Ultimately, documenting that immense laughter and joy was the perfect ending to an unforgettable Barns at Alswick wedding.
