Katie & Pat’s Tower Bridge Wedding – Canadian Charm Meets London Landmarks

Picture this: the sun shining over London (yep, it happens!), Tower Bridge standing tall and majestic, and a couple so in love they could’ve melted the tarmac. From the very start, Katie and Pat’s Tower Bridge wedding was the perfect mash-up of romance, history, and a few iconic red phone boxes thrown in for good measure. In other words, this wasn’t just a wedding, it was a transatlantic lovefest set against one of the world’s most famous city skylines. As a London wedding photographer, days like this are what I live for.

A London Wedding with a Canadian Twist 🇨🇦❤️🇬🇧

Katie, a proud Canadian now living in the UK, wanted her wedding to be a big ol’ love letter to both her roots and her new home. As a result, she totally nailed it. With her parents flying in from Canada (cue the tears), the day felt extra special, a proper family reunion with the best backdrop imaginable: Tower Bridge.

To top it off, the whole setting was pure postcard perfection. We’re talking red buses, cobbled streets, and those classic phone boxes that every tourist (and photographer) can’t resist. Katie and Pat fully embraced the London vibes while also weaving in sweet nods to Katie’s Canadian heritage. Maple syrup favours, anyone?

Bridal Prep with a View

Katie and her bridesmaids kicked things off at The Tower Hotel and, let me tell you, the views were chef’s kiss. The suite overlooked the River Thames, and Tower Bridge just casually photobombed the background of every getting-ready snap. Meanwhile, with a glass of bubbly in one hand and makeup brushes flying in the other, the room was buzzing with excitement and laughter. (Also, can we just appreciate how glam Katie looked? Total bridal goals.)

At the same time, a few floors down, Pat and the boys were getting suited and booted, equally excited and maybe just a tad nervous. There was banter, beers, and the kind of camaraderie that only comes from years of friendship (and probably a few slightly embarrassing stories).

A Fairytale First Look Among Ruins

Forget castles, Katie and Pat’s first look took place in the most magical hidden gem: the ruins of an ancient church, tucked away from the hustle of the city. With ivy-draped walls and gothic stone arches, it felt like something straight out of a film. The moment they saw each other, it was pure emotion. I might’ve had something in my eye… cough.

So, if you’re planning a London elopement or city wedding and want a romantic twist, trust me, this spot is gold dust. As a London elopement photographer, I can tell you hidden gems like this make all the difference.

Saying “I Do” at The Dickens Inn

Now let’s talk about the ceremony. Katie and Pat tied the knot at The Dickens Inn in St Katharine Docks, just a stone’s throw from Tower Bridge. This 18th-century pub-turned-wedding-venue is bursting with character, wooden beams, flower-draped balconies, and all the cosy charm you could wish for. Because of this, The Dickens Inn wedding days have such a warm, intimate vibe that’s perfect for couples who want a relaxed celebration in the heart of London.

The ceremony was full of heartfelt vows, happy tears, and a few cheeky laughs (just how we like it). Afterwards, once the formalities were done, it was time to party!

Golden Hour, Laughter & London Magic

After the “I do’s,” we snuck out for a few golden-hour portraits with the iconic London skyline doing its thing in the background. At one point, Pat gave Katie a piggyback (because why not?), and we ran through the cobbled streets like we were in a rom-com. These two were absolute naturals in front of the camera, laughing, dancing, and soaking in every second.

If you’re looking for a London wedding photographer who knows all the best spots from Tower Bridge to St Katharine Docks and the hidden ancient ruins in between, then I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re planning a big Tower Bridge wedding or a small, intimate London elopement, I’ll be there to capture the joy, the chaos, and all the little moments that make your day uniquely yours.
